Founder

 Anita Jamison, MS, LCPC, CADC

Anita is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Addictions Counselor since 1994. Anita received her Master’s degree from National-Louis University in Wheaton, IL.  She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision at Governors State University in University Park, IL. Her background spans twenty-seven plus years in mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Her most recent clinical experience was in a psychiatric hospital where she counseled children, adolescents, adults and families for thirteen years. She has worked within gender specific programs and co-ed treatment environments in out-patient, inpatient, or residential levels of care.  She also provides clinical supervision to graduate students.  

As a clinician, she espouses a person-centered approach, utilizes motivational interviewing skills, and is currently receiving advanced training in an Emotion-Focused Therapy approach.  Overall, she integrates several theoretical and therapeutic approaches to counseling in her effort to meet the individual needs of each client. She also provides Christian counseling and spiritual development counseling. Her belief is in the capacity of the human spirit to change, adjust, to become more reflective and insightful, which in-turn, leads the way to cultivate the resiliency necessary to overcome life’s challenges.  This belief provides the foundation for her passion in assisting individuals and families to develop their own strengths to manage life’s problematic transitions; effectively and successfully.
